There’s a possibility that you might not have yet heard about Croatia's historic region of
Slavonija. Or it might be that you've only ever travelled along Croatia's coastline. But, in any event, you are likely to have noticed the buzz around our recent
Eurovision success and the lead singer's traditional attire, lots of which take inspiration from these eastern parts of the country and have caused an increase in sales of crocheted tablecloths and summer bookings.
Before the Summer truly begins, we will have our official launch of the UK offices at the Embassy of Croatia in London. This occasion will see the strings of the "
Zlatne Strune" orchestra giving guests a specially-curated insight into traditional Slavonian music. After the performance, we will hear short reflections about the rich history and offerings of this region from our co-founder
Katarina Mihaljevic and briefly delve into linguistic diversities of the region with UCL's professor
Dina Mehmedbegovic-Smith.
After the performance, traditional and renowned wines, cheeses and organic honeycomb will be served, and there will be an opportunity to speak with our founders.
